The Micromax Canvas 2 has already got some attention among the
Bangladeshi smartphone users for the sake of the satellite channels (the
fact is that most of the time we watch the channels that telecasts from
or for India). Watching those ads you may think that it is a device
similar to Samsung Galaxy S3 or Note 2. But, except its screen size (not
screen resolution) its performance & specs hardly stands near the
previously mentioned devices. But, we must remember that those devices
are 3/4 times higher priced than Micromax Canvas 2.
Lets have a look at its specs to get a clear idea about its power.
- 5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 196 ppi pixel density (a decent screen not a superb display).
- The Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor is ok.
- The RAM is only 512 MB a setback to be a real superphone, and the internal storage is 4 GB (2 GB user available) .
- The 8 MP autofocus camera with dual-LED flash is good & the front vga camera is also ok.
- It runs on Android OS, v4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but most smartphone today cames with the Android Jelly Bean.
- Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery is ok but the performance is average.
- It is a dual sim & dual standby phone (like most low cost chinese handesets but a true advantage of carrying 1 handset in place of 2).
- It comes with 3g, gps, bluetooth & wifi connectivity.
Canvas 2 Price: 15,000 TK |
The bottom line is that it is a good device at its price range. It looks
nice though a little bit bulky. The display is just average but better
than the chinese cheap android mobiles. The 1GHZ dual core processor
will not give you much advantage for the RAM of only 512MB. But its
camera can do a good job. It also can play 720p video. If you want an
average phone at a cheap price & big screen Micromax Canvas 2 is
going to be a fit for you. The price of Micromax Canvas 2 in Bangladesh
is about 15,000 TK on bargain.
